You hear that sound? Neither do we yet—but soon, the hills of San Jose will be alive with music again! We’re thrilled to announce the reimagined ACDS Band program, now flourishing under the passionate direction of Mr. Tim Ford.

Founded in 2016 by a dedicated ACDS teacher in partnership with a local music company, our Band program has always been a vibrant part of our school community. This year, we’re excited to bring the program fully in-house, with Mr. Ford at the helm, ready to lead our students on an inspiring musical journey right here at ACDS.
No experience? No worries. Want to play, perform, and have fun? Say no more.

Band is where it all starts. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or building on your skills, you’ll dive into real music with real instruments. From classic tunes like Hot Cross Buns to exciting new repertoire, students will build skills, confidence, and get the thrill of performing on stage.

B.A.N.D.: Beats And Notes Daily
Our program is a perfect harmony of learning and fun—kind of like choir, but for instruments! Under Mr. Ford’s expert guidance, students in Grades 4 through 8 will develop musical literacy, learning how to read music and mastering instrument-specific fundamentals. The instruments offered include Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, and Trumpet.

Getting started is easy! Just reach out to Mr. Ford, and he’ll help you find the perfect instrument and get you on your way to making music.
Rehearsals happen every Thursday after school from 3:15 to 4:15 PM in the Band Room (Room 37). It’s a welcoming, supportive space where students grow their talents and create lifelong memories.
