Tuition enables Almaden Country Day School to provide competitive salaries for our dedicated, talented teachers, and funds an array of exciting instructional enrichments for our students. We are mindful that an investment in an Almaden Country Day School education requires a substantial commitment from our families, and consequently we offer a generous tuition assistance program that currently supports about 20% of our students. *Tuition includes a non-refundable tuition deposit of $800 for Preschool and Junior Kindergarten, and $1500 for Kindergarten to Eighth grade due at the time of enrollment/re-enrollment.

Tuition Payment Options

Almaden Country Day School requires that Basic Tuition be paid in one of two ways:

Option 1 – Single Annual Payment. Basic Tuition paid in full by May 31. Non-refundable tuition deposit due at time of enrollment/re-enrollment. There is a discount for single annual payment. The Preschool and Junior Kindergarten discount is $275 and the Kindergarten through 8th grade discount is $400. Please contact the Business Office if you have questions.

Option 2 – Monthly Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). If you wish to pay Basic Tuition on a monthly basis, you will need to authorize the school to electronically withdraw funds from your bank account starting in June and running through May. Tuition is drawn over 11 months with the February draw devoted to the non-refundable tuition deposit.

Priority Re-Enrollment

During the annual re-enrollment window, current families have the opportunity to re-enroll their student(s) before the school offers admission to prospective students. To complete re-enrollment and reserve a spot for the following school year, the online contract must be completed, and the non-refundable tuition deposit must be paid by check (for families who pay tuition in one payment) or via online payment available in the re-enrollment contract (for families who pay tuition monthly via EFT). Current families will also be able to let the Advancement Office know if they do not plan to return the following year.

New Enrollments

A one-time, non-refundable $100 application fee is due with each application. Upon confirmation of acceptance to the school, the non-refundable tuition deposit for each student is due within one week.

Withdrawal

During the re-enrollment process, if we receive a “Request for Records” from another school we will assume your child no longer intends to enroll and his/her space will be forfeited. Upon withdrawal after school has begun, you are eligible for a refund of any unused Basic Tuition and Apple Orchard fees paid, prorated by the number of days attended, less a $250 withdrawal fee. Tuition deposits are non-refundable.

International Student Fee

The International Student Fee covers the costs of the additional time and attention international students require from admissions staff, faculty, and administration, as well as the services provided by the International Student Coordinator.

Other Fees

There will be additional fees during the school year to pay for things such as overnight field trips (est. $200- $2,200), after-school sports (est. $150-200), and optional hot lunch (est. $6/day). A $25 late fee may be added to any fees that are not received by the due date.

Termination

Students and parents attending Almaden Country Day School are expected to understand and abide by the principles and policies outlined in the Parent Handbook (available on the website under Parent's Corner). Failure to do so may result in termination from school at the sole discretion of the Head of School. Services may be terminated if it is determined through observations and parent meetings that Almaden Country Day School does not meet the needs of your child.
