Please bring beach chairs, picnic blankets, refillable water bottles, and layers as the evening chills, BUT please leave scooters, bikes, and other wheels like Heelys at home. There will be a lot of families on the blacktop and wheels would be a safety hazard.

Please read the following reminders to help us stay safe and be efficient during carpool.

• Parking in the front lot is for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten families only.
• When you park in the ACDS parking lot, thank you for taking only GUEST spaces.
• Parents who park on Akio: there is NO PEDESTRIAN ENTRY along Akio! The Akio driveway is vehicles only, and crossing the grass and parking lot is unsafe. You and your children will follow the sidewalk to Trinidad and proceed to the crosswalk where Mr. Leonard can escort you to the curb. 
• When using carpool, to avoid delaying cars behind you, please have your children ready to get out, and parents should not exit your cars while in carpool.
• If you park in the neighborhood, thank you for not blocking our neighbors' driveways (even slightly).
• Safety note: Please do not double park in the street to drop off your child. This is illegal and unsafe as cars are then forced to drive into oncoming traffic to pass.

Please remember:
The cut-off for ordering same-day lunch is 6 a.m. If your child will be absent, please note that lunches can be canceled up to 5:59 a.m. the same day. Absentee lunches are not held for pick up by parents unless the front office is notified by 9:30 a.m.

Extra main courses are generally not available during the lunch service. If your child is not on the hot lunch list, they may choose two sides and a drink, and Pasta Market will bill your account for the items. 

ACDS aims for the 80/20 rule (80% healthy) so students picking up their hot lunch have a choice of sides: 

• One salad or fruit, and
• One cheese, yogurt, bag of chips, (or bread when offered), and  
• One drink (milk or water). 

Please remind your child that students are not allowed to choose two chips as their sides.
