Our next PSA board meeting of the school year will be held on Monday, November 8, over Zoom. The meeting is scheduled from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Please click here to join.

All parents are invited to attend during the first part of the meeting to hear updates from Administrators and learn about upcoming events and how to get involved. Administration and parents will then be excused, and the board will continue on to discuss board business.

Complications due to the pandemic have once again given us the opportunity to be creative. In lieu of the Thanksgiving Feast, a beloved ACDS tradition, students will participate in activities to express their gratitude for the many blessings in their lives. 

Schedule

• Monday, November 22: Class work, DEAR Day, and Gratitude Project led by the PSA
• Tuesday, November 23: Class work, Gratitude Assembly, and early dismissal at 12:00pm

The lost and found is overflowing with sweatshirts and fleece jackets, many of which are labeled with student names. Please stop by the lost and found clothing racks, conveniently located by the Auditorium doors, and claim your child’s missing items. Any items not claimed by Friday, December 17, will be either laundered and donated to the Uniform Exchange or delivered to Goodwill. 

Our incredible team of volunteers is the main reason why we’re able to sustain our rich and diverse on-campus traditions, and donating your time and energy not only offers another way to be a part of your child’s academic life, but also provides valuable opportunities to meet other parents and help ACDS thrive. A contribution of your time doesn’t need to be large in order to have a significant impact.

Our community really shined last weekend!

A sincere thank you to our dedicated, creative and talented Pumpkin Carving event chairs, Crystal Joyce and Pamela Cheng, and the many volunteers who lent a hand to help make our community event a resounding success! We were grateful for the opportunity to have our ACDS community together; our hearts are full. Thank you also to the incredible Mrs. Brown, Mr. Leonard, and Ms. Rando, who volunteered their evening and helped make the event magical. PS: If you didn’t pick up the limited edition 2021 Pumpkin Carving water bottle sticker, please pick one up at the front office.

The Middle School Social, another ACDS tradition, was back in all its glory, full of laughter and fun.  Big ACDS thank yous to Fiona Marshall, our Middle School head room parent, who helped organize the social; our eighth-grade families, who decorated and sponsored the Middle School Social; Coach McIntyre, who coordinated the logistics of the Social; and the many helping hands that tidied up the “dance club” aka the Fisher Event Center.
