November 22, 2022: Thanksgiving Feast, Early Dismissal at 12:00 pm
November 23-25, 2022: Thanksgiving Break, No School
Friday, December 16, 2022: Last Day before Winter Break. Early Dismissal at 12:00 pm
December 19, 2022 - January 2, 2023: Winter Break, No School
Tuesday, January 3, 2023: Classes Resume
January 16, 2023: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, No School
February 20-24, 2023: Presidents’ Week, No School
April 10-14, 2023: Spring Break, No School
May 29, 2023: Memorial Day, No School
June 7, 2023: Last Day of School
June 8, 2023: Graduation

Monday, November 22: Full school day, DEAR Day, FREE DRESS*, Gratitude Activity 

*PJs and sweats are ok, regular school shoes required, no blankets, pillows, or stuffed animals due to health reasons  

Tuesday, November 23: Classes, Gratitude Assembly, Early dismissal at 12:00pm*

*Aftercare is not available, please pick up your child promptly at noon

November 24-26: No School, Thanksgiving Break

Friday, December 3: Early dismissal at 12:00pm, teacher in-service

ACDS uses the Homeroom App as the grade-level communication and photo sharing hub for families. Homeroom is a predominantly visual, closed-circuit communications platform that allows you, the parent, to receive information from the teachers and have a front-row seat to the rich and diverse activities in your child's grade including homeroom, enrichments, field trips, announcements, reminders, and more. A link was sent via email from each child's homeroom teacher. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you did not receive your link to join. To learn more about Homeroom, click here.

Please note that there is a notifications bug that the app developer is troubleshooting. Do not rely on email or push notification alerts to new content for the time being. We recommend checking the Homeroom App once daily until the bug is resolved. 

We appreciate our teachers, and we know you do too. The PSA has helped create a new handy guide for teacher appreciation gifts, which is now located in your Parent’s Corner on the website. Once you log in, you can filter by grade and see all the teachers who work with your children. (Please note that not every teacher has completed their preferences survey.)

Please keep our community safe by following these safety reminders.

• Please do not double park on Trinidad to let your child out of the car or to wait to pick up your child. This blocks the road, and it is illegal and unsafe as it forces cars behind you to pass by driving into oncoming traffic. Please use the carpool line or park legally and safely in our neighborhood. You may review our carpool procedures here.
• Please watch carefully for pedestrians. We have students, parents, and neighbors who utilize the crosswalks in our neighborhood.

Many thanks to our amazing student and parent ambassadors for their help during our first two Open Houses of the school year! Our middle school student and parent ambassadors answered many questions from prospective parents and spoke candidly and enthusiastically about ACDS and what they love about the school. Prospective parents really enjoy talking with current parents and students, and all of our ambassadors were definitely the main stars of the shows!
