When it comes to Colds and Flu, Sharing is not Caring

As we head into the cold and flu season, we are starting to see illness in students and staff alike. Remember, sharing is not caring when it comes to the flu!

On campus, we will continue to clean classrooms daily, and we will more frequently wipe down door handles and other high traffic surfaces. We will also remind students to wash their hands, especially before eating.

You can help keep everyone healthy by reinforcing good hand washing with your child. We have a number of handwashing stations around campus that our students can use on their way in and out of classes.

Lost & Found - Please claim your items

The lost and found is overflowing with sweatshirts and fleece jackets, many of which are labeled with student names. Please stop by the lost and found clothing racks, conveniently located by the Auditorium doors, and claim your child’s missing items. Any items not claimed by Friday, December 17, will be either laundered and donated to the Uniform Exchange or delivered to Goodwill.

PSA Board Meeting - December 13, 2021

Our next PSA board meeting of the school year will be held on Monday, December 13, over Zoom. The meeting is scheduled from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. Please click here to join.

All parents are invited to attend during the first part of the meeting to hear updates from Administrators and learn about upcoming events and how to get involved. Administration and parents will then be excused, and the board will continue on to discuss board business.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Holiday Faculty Luncheon & Raffle - Help with a Wonderful Tradition

This well-loved PSA-sponsored event is when we take time to thank the entire ACDS Faculty & Staff for their hard work. This year, boxed take-away lunches will be provided for our Faculty & Staff, followed by a live raffle, socially distanced and masked, in the new Fisher Event Center on the afternoon of Friday, December 17th.

How can I help?

  • Donate a Gift Basket or Items for a Gift Basket to be included in the Raffle. Donations are due by Wednesday, December 15th.
  • Volunteer to help the morning of December 17, with driving and picking up the baskets and lunches, boxed lunch set up at school, plus help with decorating the tables for the live raffle. Click here to view complete details and sign up in iVolunteer.

Thank you for supporting this wonderful tradition for our faculty and staff as they head off to the holidays!

Come to the January 8 Open House for a sneak peek of next year!

Are you and your children wondering what next year might be like at ACDS? Come get a sneak peek at our open house on Saturday, January 8! Stop by between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to tour next year's classrooms, talk with teachers, and view student classwork and projects. Current students, their families, and their friends are always welcome at our open houses. Can't make the open house? Contact Mary Jo Heindel via email or telephone (408.997.0424 ext. 295) to set up a school-day tour.

Ambassadors needed: If you or your ACDS alum would like to volunteer for the January 8 Open House, please sign up here. Middle School student ambassadors should be on the lookout for a Google form to sign-up to volunteer.

Thank You

Thanksgiving
Our hearts were full and our sweet tooth satisfied thanks to our Feast co-chairs, Caitlin Jacob and Sharareh Tajbakhsh, and the many parent volunteers who helped with the Gratitude Tree activity, and cut and served pumpkin pie to our students and faculty just before the Thanksgiving break.

2021 Fall Book Fair
Also, thank you to parents Pamela Cheng and Courtney Herrin who reported for gift wrap duty at Hicklebee’s, and to our room parents for helping to promote our 2021 Fall Book Fair -- it was a resounding success thanks to our ACDS community.
