Accelerated Algebra - Part A

(6 weeks, no camp on Monday, July 4 and Fridays)

For rising 8th graders who wish to accelerate from their compacted pathway in math. The course will introduce students to the first half of the ACDS CPM Algebra content. Students completing this summer class successfully will be placed on an accelerated pathway which aims* to complete the remainder of Algebra and Geometry by the end of 8th grade.
*Note that the pace of this pathway may vary and, as a result, may not cover all of the content in the courses. It is not intended to be a replacement for high school Algebra I and Geometry I; this pathway is intended to challenge students who are ready for it, and prepare them to thrive in high school math. Also note that while some high schools allow students to choose their math courses, others require students to take placement tests for advanced math content regardless of previous coursework and performance. Generally our students excel on these placement tests, but the outcomes can vary from student to student and school to school.
