ACDS Volunteer Requirements

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with ACDS. Volunteers are instrumental in making our all-school events possible and creating the sense of community we all cherish.

URGENT: We have an important update regarding the requirements to volunteer for ACDS.

Per a new directive from our insurance company, and in order to maximize student, employee, and volunteer safety, as of January 1, 2024, ACDS will require LiveScan fingerprinting for all ACDS volunteers 18 years and older. Please see the updated requirements below along with Frequently Asked Questions about this new requirement.

Volunteer Requirements

The volunteer requirements below only apply to volunteers 18 years and older at the time they volunteer at ACDS.

Volunteers under 18 are exempt from fulfilling the requirements below for volunteering at ACDS (with the exception of the ECE/Pre-Kindergarten Classroom volunteers)

All volunteers (18 and older)

Field Trip Chaperones (non-driving)

Field Trip/School Event Drivers

  • If a parent is planning to drive anyone other than their child and has not yet been cleared by our insurance company, the parent should complete a DMV volunteer parent driver form and submit the form to the main office. Please do this early, as it will take time to clear with the DMV.
  • Live Scan fingerprinting

Athletic Volunteers (who accompany an ACDS coach)

ECE (Pre-Kindergarten) Classroom Volunteers Only (volunteers under and over 18 years old)

Kindergarten - Grade 8 Classroom Volunteers (over 18 years old)

  • Live Scan fingerprinting

Athletic Coaches (not accompanied by an ACDS coach)

Currently, you only need to be fingerprinted once, not every school year. For example, if you have been fingerprinted for ACDS for the 2023-24 school year, it will be valid for the future school years as well.
