Volunteer Roles

Room Parents play a vital role in supporting the teachers and enhancing the classroom experience for the children. Room Parents organize class parties, middle school socials, class plays, activities, and field trips. An Orientation is held in early September where responsibilities are further defined. The PSA provides each Room Parent with funds to assist with these duties.

Historians take photos or arrange for photos to be taken of class parties, field trips, and special events. These photos are then passed on to the Yearbook Staff.

Crafty? Love art? Be part of the studio experience as an Art Room Parent.

Want to volunteer but need flexibility? Volunteers are needed to sort and organize gently-used donated clothing in the PSA Room.

Help lost items find a home! Lost & Found volunteer roles include laundering clothes and bringing them to the Uniform Exchange or taking non-clothes items to be donated.

No culinary skills required. Parent volunteers host luncheons for the staff every four to six weeks. Each luncheon is organized in collaboration with the Hospitality Chair and a couple of grade levels. Those grades are asked to show appreciation to their teachers and all ACDS faculty by signing up to bring in a luncheon item.

Easy, peasy, lemon, squeezy! Come and chair or serve refreshment at this fun event and help new and returning students meet their teachers before the start of a new school year.

Grab a blanket, bring your lunch and come share your summer adventures with friends, old and new at Greystone Park. Held the day before school starts, students have the opportunity to meet their teachers. Volunteers are needed to chair this easy and fun event.

Volunteers set up food and entertainment at a local pool or park. Middle schoolers are dropped off for faculty-chaperoned fun with classmates before the start of school.

Show your Cougar spirit! Events during this week are organized to promote school spirit. Make sure your kids join in the fun!

There is nothing more heartwarming than seeing your children pair up with their buddies or peers to complete a fun outdoor run. Volunteers are needed to make this exciting day a success.

For a spooktacular time, join us at the ACDS Pumpkin Patch. Enjoy pumpkin carving, along with entertainment, Halloween themed activities, and refreshments. Volunteers are needed to chair the event, as well as to decorate and work during the event.

Earn your coveted seat at the table by signing up to volunteer. This annual event is an ACDS tradition where all the classes participate in preparing and then sharing a Thanksgiving meal. Volunteers are needed to sign up to donate turkeys, assist with classroom dish preparations, serve on the day of the event, and help with set-up and clean-up.

It's time to celebrate! The Annual Auction event features both live and online auction items as well as a fun night of dining, dancing, and camaraderie. Come join the fun!

Go on adventures with the Middle School students as they explore skills and interests outside the typical school day. Students participate in unique activities that include everything from kayaking, to cooking, to personal development and beyond.

Come see the children shine on stage. ACDS students have many talents, and you are sure to be delighted with everything from song, to dance, to martial arts. Parents help coordinate and set up to make this event a success.

Snow cones! Popcorn! Cotton candy! This end of year celebration event for ECE and elementary students is the perfect memory-making event for parents, teachers, and students. Earn your ticket in by signing up to volunteer.

Calling all drivers! Volunteers are needed to transport Middle School students to their celebration during the carnival time and return to school for dismissal.
