Below are the most commonly asked questions about Summer Camp.

How do I contact the ACDS Summer Camps office?

Can I register my child for only one day or a couple days of summer camp?

Can a rising 7 - 12 grader (current or former ACDS students only) volunteer at the summer camps?

We would love for our ACDS rising 7 - 8th grade students and ACDS alumni to consider volunteering (rising 7th graders and up) or interning (for ages 15+) to help at the summer camps. Our summer camps run June 16 - July 25 (no camp June 30 - July 4), Monday - Friday from 9 am - 12 pm and 1 - 4 pm daily and volunteers will get credit towards their community involvement requirement for Middle or High School. What time is drop-off and pick-up?

Drop-off and pick-up times are as follows:

No supervision before 8:50 am
8:50 - 9:00 am	Drop-off for Morning Camps
9:00 am - 12:00 pm	Morning Camps
12:00 - 12:10 pm	Pick-up for students not attending afternoon camps; $5 per minute after 12:10 pm; no supervision after 12:25 pm
12:00 - 1:00 pm	Lunch Students registered for only Morning OR Afternoon Camps are welcome to register for the Lunch session for an additional fee. Students registered for both Morning AND Afternoon camps in the same week will automatically be registered for Lunch at no additional fee.
1:00 - 4:00 pm	Afternoon Camps
4:00 - 4:10 pm	Pick-up for Afternoon Camps; Students not picked up by 4:10 pm will be taken to our Extended Care program and charged $30.
4:00 - 5:00 pm	Extended Care program option (additional $30 per day). Students not picked up by 5:00 pm will be charged $5 per minute.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be received in writing by email to summercamps@almadencountryday.org at least 7 days prior to the summer camp start date. For cancellations received at least 7 days prior to start date, a refund will be issued minus a 10% non-refundable administrative fee per camp. No refunds or credits are given for any cancellations made 1-6 days before the start of camp and/or after the camp has started.

Credits/Refunds are not possible for missed day(s) of a camp session. Credits are not able to be carried forward to future years.

ACDS reserves the right to cancel any of our camps due to unforeseen circumstances. In addition, all camps are subject to a minimum enrollment. Dates and times are subject to change. You will be notified of any change or cancellation to a course/camp to which your child is registered at least 7 days before the start of camp.

Can my child switch camps after I've already registered them?

If your child would like to switch from one camp to a different one (the same week or another week) the following terms apply:

If camps are the same price and no refund or additional payment is required, changes are possible without penalty at least 7 days prior to the start date of the original camp.
If camps are a different price (higher or lower), a change can be made, and the cost of the new camp will apply in addition to 10% non-refundable administrative fee .
Changes are not possible 1 - 6 days before a camp is scheduled to start and/or after a camp has started.

What does my child need to bring with them to camp?

Water Bottle & Snack/Lunch: For all sessions, campers should bring a water bottle and snack. If campers are attending a morning session and staying to attend an afternoon session, you can order lunch (see the lunch section below) or please provide them with a packed lunch.

Sunscreen: Please apply sunscreen to your child before the session they are attending. If your child will be attending both a morning and afternoon session, please note it during the registration process and provide the sunscreen in clearly labeled bag with their name on it so they can reapply it later in the day if needed.

Equipment/Clothing: All campers should wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe athletic shoes (not cleats). Some camps may have additional requirements or suggestions and the camp leaders will email the camp participants before the start of camp with that information.

Are lunch and/or snacks provided?

Campers for all ACDS camps should bring with them a water bottle and snack in clearly labeled containers.
Full-Day Themed Campers only:
- Lunch and a morning snack will be provided (see instructions to order on the Information page). Campers should bring a water bottle and afternoon snack.
For those students attending both morning and afternoon camps:
- Lunch time supervision is complimentary, but lunch is not included
  - ACDS has partnered with our lunch provider, Boonli, and parents can order lunch as needed. More information and menus will be sent to parents closer to the start of camp. If not ordering lunch, please provide your child with a packed lunch.
- An additional snack should also be packed for those attending both morning and afternoon sessions.

Peanut/Nut/Sesame-Free Zone for Pre-K & & Kindergarten camps only
Our Pre-K and Kindergarten camps and rooms will remain a “peanut/nut/sesame-free zone.” Please do not send in any food items to be consumed during camp that contains peanuts, nuts, sesame, peanut butter, nut butters, sesame butters or peanut/nut/sesame products.
